CYANOTYPE: IN THE MOONLIGHT

Ages 7 and up.

This magical activity is inspired by a process borrowed from photography: cyanotype. Using opaque patterns, children create designs on photosensitive paper. After exposure to the sun, the paper is marked with the negative patterns. All that's left is to rinse the paper in a bath of clear water and the design is revealed on a blue background! These creations become the nighttime backgrounds that complement the illustrations of 4 poetic paintings.
